  1. The big day is here! Preparations to release Wyoming for American Truck Simulator are in top gear. We are also preparing for a special release stream with special guests. So what time is Wyoming releasing? Wyoming for American Truck Simulator will be released at: 10:00 PDT, 11:00 MDT, 13:00 EDT, 18:00 BST, 19:00 CEST, 01:00⁺¹ SST, 03:00⁺¹ AEST So what exactly does our Wyoming DLC have to offer for truckers? These are just a few of the things we think you will love: Deliver to and from 10 cities and discover 14 settlements Discover and deliver to Wyoming's important industries like coal & soda ash, farms & agriculture, railyards, and more! Haul livestock cargo to our new cattle auction houses Drive on the Highway to Heaven. Haul cargo on the I-80, the second-longest Interstate highway in the United States See wildlife unique to Wyoming including Bison Visit landmarks like Devils Tower National Monument and part of the Yellowstone National Park and get bird's-eye views with many new viewpoints. Admire accurate representations of cities like Cheyenne, Casper, Jackson, Sheridan, and more! Visit and take a rest at famous Wyoming rest stops & gas stations. Unlock Wyoming-specific Steam Achievements ...and much more! We will also have a World of Trucks event available for all new visitors to Wyoming, with unique rewards to be earned as you visit all 10 cities and deliver jobs. Learn more about the rules in yesterday's blog post and take part in #CruisingWyoming at WorldofTrucks.com. We'd love to see your photos across our Social Media channels using the hashtag! We expect to have this event available to players for an extended period of time, probably way beyond the point of reaching the community goal. We don't want to motivate you to rush through the DLC in a hurry to make sure you manage to obtain the personal achievement. We simply want to reward early adopters of the DLC for spending quality time with the new content. Speaking of rewards, all truckers in Wyoming are eligible to receive a special cabin accessory, a Triceratops plush toy! To earn this unique reward, simply take any External Contract or External Market job to or from the city of Gillette. Why this city specifically you may ask? Believe it or not, paleontologists digging in northeastern Wyoming (so near Gillette) have uncovered fossilized remains of three triceratopses - possibly the most complete specimens of the dinosaurs yet found! So be sure to claim your part of prehistoric history for your cabin. We will also be hosting a special Wyoming release live stream across official Steam & Twitch channels starting at 16:00 CEST. Don't miss out on this broadcast as we talk with Davido (DLC Lead) PLUS a special guest appearance from Pavel Šebor CEO of SCS Software! We will be answering questions from the community, talking in-depth about the DLC, giving away free Wyoming Steam keys and of course, releasing the highly anticipated map expansion LIVE on stream! We hope you'll enjoy exploring what Wyoming has to offer! We will see you on the roads. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1415692/American_Truck_Simulator__Wyoming/
  2. Servicing the logging industry (together with farming industry) will be an important aspect of the in-game economy for the upcoming Washington map expansion. If you are looking for a more challenging drive, you will not only come across beautiful open roads but also winding and dusty ones leading through the thick forests of Washington State. The most interesting example of this is the logging cliff road used to transport tons of logs and wood chips as well as to haul heavy logging machinery. Our map designers also have a new tool and process for scenic background creations available. This will help us create an even more immersive environment in our games. We used them extensively while creating this hill-side road. You can see the results in this fantastic panoramic screenshot gallery. 3. Source: http://blog.scssoft.com/2018/11/beyond-baltic-sea-releasing-on-november.html?m=0 The release of the Beyond the Baltic Sea map expansion is knocking on the hood! The results of the latest testing are in and are so positive that we can establish a firm release date. We can't wait for you to cross the border and to explore the countries of the Baltic Sea. We thank you for your continued patience and support of this eagerly awaited expansion. We are happy to announce that the latest addition to Euro Truck Simulator 2 'Beyond the Baltic Sea' DLC will be released on Steam on November 29th, 2018! Today we're presenting Beyond the Baltic Sea main features list for the first time. We hope that a summary of the upcoming expansion will leave you with no doubt in your mind that this is a very content-rich DLC. Over 13 thousand kilometers of new in-game roads Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia to explore Southern Finland containing major cities and industry Russian territory including Saint Petersburg and Kaliningrad 23 new major cities and many smaller towns Characteristic Baltic architecture Famous landmarks and recognizable places Brand new unique 3D-assets Lush climate accordant vegetation Local AI trains, trams, and traffic cars Over 30 new local company docks and industries Finland-only High Capacity Transport (a tractor and two long trailers) Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian achievements to unlock You may start seeing reviews, videos, and streams appearing online early this weekend. 4. Last December's add-on release for Euro Truck Simulator 2 - the Special Transport DLC - has been accepted very positively in the fan community. As you may remember, a comparable game expansion is also in the works for American Truck Simulator, but meanwhile, the team behind Special Transport still keeps on tweaking and improving their creation. We are happy to reveal that along with the upcoming ETS2 1.31 Update, the Special Transport DLC will also be updated with new jobs. There are new routes added to the core map, and several new routes will also be accessible for owners of other map DLCs.
  5. Source: http://blog.scssoft.com/2018/04/american-truck-simulator-update-131.html We are making American Truck Simulator Update 1.31 accessible in Open Beta form today. We are starting a little rough this time, with several known issues, but at the same time, we are eager to collect feedback and reports already to help us finalize this update ASAP. Open Beta 1.31 for ETS2 should follow in a matter of a few days. This update brings a mix of new things in many areas of our games. For those of you focused on truck realism, there are simulated trailer cables (with different visibility options) and improved mirror functionality. Explorers taking the CA120 into Yosemite National Park right away - be advised that in National Parks there are some regulations about commercial trucking. And finally, there are also new bottom dumper trailers coming in three versions. There are also some smaller changes; 1.31 brings a few items from players' wish lists. We are introducing a new filter option for job and cargo search, or better precision of trip data for dashboard computer. As always, we have applied a ton of various fixes and tweaks. There is also one noteworthy change - from now on, when you reload/restart the game or if the gameplay repositions your vehicle to a new place, and you "spawn" in your truck, the parking brake will be always automatically set to ON, so that the vehicle may never start moving on its own unintentionally. There are also some changes in tools and mods category. We are currently in the middle of a massive tech change in how our map designers apply textures, materials, and vegetation to road segments. Of course, this will also apply to the mod creators going forward. Historically, we have used a concept of "stamps" with pre-designed patterns to conserve memory and disk space, but we are abandoning this approach, and letting the map designers just "paint" surface properties with a "brush." This will bring more freedom and flexibility to map design; it should make the work more effective when a map designer is in need of a particular terrain feature. For the time being though, it means that map mods will have to be re-touched and re-saved with the new system, so things will need to settle down until everybody catches up. With the cleanup of map import code, we have also dropped support for very old (pre-4.38 format) maps so mods that are no longer maintained (were last saved as of Feb 2017) cannot be loaded in the current version of the game. We hope that this is not really an issue for any mods in current use. Anyway - enjoy all the new additions, but please remember: It's only an open beta, not a stable public version so you may encounter bugs, instability, and kinks. It's completely okay if you want to wait for the final release. But if you're interested in helping us to move there faster, we'll appreciate all of your feedback on our forum and your bug reports in this section. MAIN FEATURES: Power/air lines between truck and trailer(s) Improved mirror rendering (head position-based FOV, properly curved mirrors) New road through Yosemite added (CA-120) New trailers (bottom dumpers) MINOR CHANGES: Job selection screens have new filter and cargo search elements (will be added later) Parking brake automatically ON after truck spawn (g_park_brake_init) Screenshot name format now based on date and time Increased precision trip data (dashboard computer display) Fixed torque converter locking Fixed damaged predefined trucks in dealers and quick jobs Fixed trailer damage reporting Fixed HDR interpolation TOOLS/ MOD: New terrain brushes in the map editor Dropped support of the old maps (pre 4.38, due to brushes) Mirror_data A trailer could be registered as standalone or not Variable shift length Truck dealer trucks are not on the list anymore, the game reads all units in given directory Steerable wheel independent on wheel model Dropped support for old attributes
  6. SCS Software was through a lot of changes last year; one of the major milestones was moving to our new home. Our new office space was custom-designed based on our very long experience and perspective on teamwork. The goal was to provide our dev teams with comfortable and healthy environment where sharing ideas across the company is as easy as in open space, but where the teams can enjoy a certain degree of privacy as well. When a developer is happy, it is reflected in the results of her or his work, and our fans get the best quality! We are very proud of the new office, so along with our architects, we have decided to participate in the most prestigious "who has the best office" competition in our country - Meeting Room of the Year 2017. As votes are accepted world-wide, we thought that we may dare to approach our fans for a bit of support. You can see the photos of our office here on the blog or on the official site of the competition. If you have missed it and are curious to see more, we are once again embedding a very detailed walk-through tour video of our office (shot by our friend, Polish youtuber Wujek Bohun). We are grateful for every vote you choose to give us. If we manage to place high in the competition, it means more visibility for our company in the media, and possibly on local job market, resulting in higher chances to grow our dev team with more talent. As the pages are partly in English and partly in Czech, here are step by step instructions on how to vote: 1) Click on this link to get to the voting section (www.zasedackaroku.evropa2.cz) 2) Find SCS Software (or just click this link: http://zasedackaroku.evropa2.cz/scs-software/ 3) To cast your vote, click on "DÁVÁM SVŮJ HLAS" hyperlink with a little heart symbol beneath the photos That's it! Thank you very much.
  7. Source: http://blog.scssoft.com/2018/01/american-truck-simulator-130-update.html In the frenzy of releases at the end of last year, we have not managed to sync the codebases of American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 to the same revision. With multiple builds of games and DLC to pass through QA, we did not have enough testing capacity to dedicate to this update. The 1.29 revision was solid and working, and we didn't want to risk releasing a new build just a day or two before starting our whole-company vacation, only to find out that a hotfix is needed immediately. It was deemed safer to live with known little glitches for a few weeks rather than to risk introducing an unknown game-breaking bug. This maintenance release mostly brings some bug fixes and safety measures for mods. Your game on Steam should update automatically, unless you have opted out from auto updates, or unless you prefer to stay with a particular branch to preserve older mod compatibility. Features: Code support for multi-torque engines Fixed generation of terrain when it is connected to terrain in unloaded sector AI will not use blinkers when canceling a lane change while it is in progress Fixed sleeping area triggers not being visible in UI map after initial game load Improved calculation of trailer weight distribution when lifting trailer axles Various editor fixes and improvements (stamps in content browser, support hiding of instanced geometry, collections, item performance info, searching, traffic tool) Cleanup of OpenGL support Fixed light sources in multi-time HQ screenshots Prevented crash if road is using a stamp whose material is missing Prevented crash when creating new board template in mod Updated localization
  8. Last blog post of the year Dear truck simulation fans, After a couple of very frenzy weeks, we are taking a few days off to recharge our batteries. There is a lot of opportunities to spend quality time now in both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator - with New Mexico, Italia, Special Transport, and with the ongoing World of Trucks end-of-year event. So we hope that you will have some forty tons of fun (or more!) with our games in the next week or two! We want to express our sincere thanks for your support. This year was great and full of promise, but our ambition is much higher. Our feature and content wishlist is very long, and our desire to provide you with the best truck/vehicle simulation anyone can build still very strong. We want to wish you all the best in 2018. Party hard, celebrate and make a New Year’s wish. Have a healthy and prosperous New Year! Happy Trucking! Your SCS Software Team Source: http://blog.scssoft.com/2017/12/all-best-in-year-2018.html
  9. Source: http://blog.scssoft.com/2017/12/ets2-special-transport-is-here.html We are proud to bring you the final major release of 2017 - Special Transport DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is now available for everyone on Steam Store! Important: If you are a long-term fan with a larger portfolio of ETS2 expansions but little patience to read the following wall of text, make sure to check out this Cargo Bundle link first! It has been a very busy year for SCS Software, a year of major studio growth, and also a year with the record amount of content releases in our plans. We were planning to space out the releases through the autumn, but you know us, we don't release stuff until it's done. So we kept coming back to tweak, test, polish, re-test - rinse and repeat - until we are finally satisfied with the quality. We ended up with several releases all lined up for the final weeks of the year, we apologize for the avalanche. This expansion is quite special for us and not only for its name. It's not just about a bunch of new highly detailed 3D models - as the regulations of oversize transports are very specific, we had to develop a ton of new AI code and created a sort of a game inside a game. These jobs just don't allow you the same degree of freedom to roam the continent as standard deliveries, quite the contrary, you have to adhere to very strict instructions, keep your hand steady on the steering wheel and your eyes on every centimeter of the road. We have spent over a year coding and scripting the functionality and the first batch of Special Transport jobs for the release, but it's only a start, we are committed to bringing you a wider variety of routes in the future. Your route will be secured by two escort vehicles guiding you through the transport job from its start to the place of delivery. It's not going to be a piece of cake, but if you obey the escort vehicles' advice and deliver the cargo in pristine condition, you can consider yourself a real pro, a true veteran behind the wheel who can deliver even the most enormous cargoes. Let's take a look what the Special Transport DLC for ETS2 offers: Key Features 11 huge cargoes (up to 70 tons, 6 m width, 5+ m height and 20+ m length) 4 new special trailers Unique job routes for to challenge you with Special Transport (most in the base map, some through DLC expansions, more to come!) A combination of over 80 Special Transport Jobs Custom AI escort vehicles Original intros for the cargoes and jobs, crowds and police cars along the routes New models, characters, and animations of people assisting or spectating the transport Curious pedestrians, journalists or transport co-workers along the routes A new set of warning beacons for the trucks Special Transport Achievements Gameplay Features Close collaboration with AI escort vehicles required Enhanced AI behavior: clearing the path, stopping traffic, giving advice, pushing opposing vehicles to the side etc. The risk to fail the given Job on the spot if you do not adhere to strict instructions or regulations New checkpoints system to keep your progress in a special transport job safe Gameplay Features Close collaboration with AI escort vehicles required Enhanced AI behavior: clearing the path, stopping traffic, giving advice, pushing opposing vehicles to the side etc. The risk to fail the given Job on the spot if you do not adhere to strict instructions or regulations New checkpoints system to keep your progress in a special transport job safe We hope that you still have some free time left in your Christmas 2017 Calendar because these enormous cargoes will require some truly dedicated drivers to deliver them safely!
  10. If you think that we are done with new releases for our fans this year, rejoice, because the hype train is not slowing down! The Special Transport DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is now in the final testing phase. In our humble opinion, it looks pretty promising so far! We feel that it's the right time to tease you a little bit with its promo trailer: We hope that the weekend ahead - that we plan to spend on re-testing and double-checking everything - won't shatter our confidence and that we'll be able to announce the Special Transport DLC's release date next week. Stay tuned! Source:http://blog.scssoft.com/2017/12/special-transport-dlc-promo-trailer.html
  11. We're excited to announce the release of Italia map expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2. This map DLC expands Euro Truck Simulator 2 with our rendition of the beautiful European country Italy with its rich history, modern industry, traditional architecture, and diverse natural environments. Players will experience the typical features of Italy from behind the wheel. Explore roads leading through the Apennines, where tunnels and bridges alternate with scenic vistas and curvy segments, opening the view to distant horizons. Descend from the height of mountain passes to the shores of the seas, travel from manicured farmland to wilder and more arid places. The geography and shape of Italy have led to a comparatively high concentration of cities in the Italia map expansion. Local industries contain, among others, famous places like Carrara marble quarries and Europe‘s largest Steelworks in Taranto. Main features 11,500 km of new in-game roads 19 new cities, including Rome, Napoli, Palermo Unique new 3D-assets Realistic junctions including ring roads around big cities Many regional industries and companies Typical Italian toll gates and signs Recognizable landmarks Typical Italian architecture Improved vegetation for the Mediterranean climate Interesting new cargoes added New Italia achievements to unlock Useful links ETS Map Booster Bundle page (make sure to visit first if you already own any other map DLC!) 12. The roads are stretched. The trees are planted. The buildings and landmarks are in place. You can hear a deep hum of engines from the garage. Minor cosmetic touches are still applied this week, but we are pretty much done, and ready to announce the release date. We cannot wait to present our work in all its beauty! Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Italia DLC will be available on December 5th, 2017. To be more specific, we are planning to release the DLC in afternoon hours our local time - Prague, Czech Republic (GMT+1). We are planning a pizza party in the office to celebrate the occasion! Please be aware that in places ahead of us on the clock like Australia or China, it may be very late night already and the calendar may even show a new day. On the other hand, for our fans in Brazil or Canada, it will still be morning hours. We have less than a week to orchestrate the release in the digital sphere. The DLC will also be distributed as a boxed edition in some territories and our distribution partners are doing their magic in the retail channel to be on time, too. The ETS2 - Italia coming soon page on Steam is loaded with screenshots, video trailer, and all the other important information. Do not forget to add Italia to your wish list! If you are wondering about pricing, here is a copy & paste of the pricing string as it has been set up on Steam: $17.99, £13.49, 17,99€, CHF 17.--, 699 pуб., 69,99zł, R$ 44,99, ¥ 1,980, 126,00 kr, Rp 125 999, RM35.00, P459.95, S$18.00, ฿339.00, 179.998₫, ₩ 19,000, 35,00 TL, 219₴, Mex$ 175.99, CDN$ 19.99, A$ 19.99, NZ$ 21.99, ¥ 60, ₹ 559, CLP$ 8.800, S/.44.95, COL$ 36.000, R 199.00, HK$ 110.00, NT$ 438, 50.00 SR, 56.00 AED, ARS$ 209,99, ₪66.95, 2 600₸, 3.15 KD, 38.99 QR, ₡7.800, $U389. 13. Open Beta of Euro Truck Simulator 2 Update 1.30 is ready for you to try! How come we have skipped a version number? As both our flagship truck sims were getting ready for a major DLC release relatively short time apart, we had to run two parallel testing tracks. Code and data "freeze" for ETS2 happened several weeks after ATS was already "forked" for the release of its 1.29 update. As a result, Euro Truck Simulator 2 will be skipping a version number, while American Truck Simulator will catch up to the same 1.30 codebase version shortly after the update of its older brother. Anyway, ETS2 Update 1.30 is bringing plenty of new, cool, and, of course, free stuff that we'd like to discuss... MAIN FEATURES Map improvements - city of Milano was completely remade, the whole northern part of Italy improved We refreshed the old part of Italy which is already present in the base game to make it fit better with the quality of the upcoming Italia DLC. Consider it a sneak-peek into what it is going to be like. Overhaul of navigation algorithms New navigation code has been introduced in American Truck Simulator already and it is a huge change that required major programming effort and ended up being a large improvement over the old one. The navigation is now capable of sending the driver back along the same stretch of the road if need be, which may seem trivial, but it actually required a total redesign of the underlying data structures. We are looking forward to your feedback on this Time zones support ETS2 now also supports time zones, which is going to be handy for further growth of the map. For now, this change will be affecting the UK only, since other ETS2 countries are in the same time zones. ADDITIONAL CHANGES ZF-16 transmission supporting upcoming DLC for all trucks that missed similar one Map fitted to correct projection (more exact environment behavior), map panning option Multi-torque engines support (used in DAF engines 2017) Basic engine and transmission info in quick job truck tooltip Trailers with country restrictions are towed only to services in given countries Further polish to DAF, Volvo, and SCANIA trucks Tons of map tweaks and fixes in the base map and older map DLCs New luxury yacht cargo TOOLS / MOD ACCESS New interactive tool for environmental lighting and weather setting (included in the editor) New interactive tool for traffic behavior and rules debugging (included in the editor) New scene preview tool (included in the editor) New navigation parameters in map data Assistance service parameters in economy data Truck scale weight costs in economic data We are ready for the open beta and looking forward to your feedback! Positive or negative, send it our way, as we are striving to improve the game as much as we can. Your help and participation in Open Betas is highly appreciated. During open betas, we are operating a dedicated alternate site for World of Trucks, which is used to safely test all new features. Please visit World of Trucks Open Beta web for more information. Also, check our modding wiki to get details pertaining to mods for the game. If you wish to take part in the open beta, you can find this version in the public_beta branch on Steam. The way to access it is as follows: Steam client → LIBRARY → right click on Euro Truck Simulator 2 → Properties → Betas tab → public_beta → 1.30 public beta. No password required. Just as with the previous Open Beta releases - please keep in mind that this is still only a beta version of the update! You may experience instability and/or bugs and kinks. It’s completely okay if you want to wait for the final release. But if you are interested in providing feedback at this stage, be sure to let us know about your findings on our forum; you can join the general discussion here, and report any bugs here. We appreciate all your feedback. Oh right, I would almost forget: New Generation S and R Scania trucks are a part of this update! With almost two man-years invested in building the new vehicle models and implementing them into the game since the start of the year, this is our most detailed truck ever created. Just as the reworked northern Italy, the new Scania will be released absolutely for free. Enjoy your Open Beta and be sure to check our forums if you are having any trouble and need to report anything. Preferably, test the game both without and with your MODs, to see how the "vanilla" version behaves, as well as any interaction with the modifications you are used to using. Make a backup of your player profile to make sure you can go back in case that you do not find 1.30 ready for you yet!
  14. We are proud to announce that the New Mexico map expansion for American Truck Simulator has just been released! New Mexico's nickname is the “Land of Enchantment.” A lot of unique natural scenery will accompany the players during all hauls. The state has a lot to offer in terms of landscape variety: Rio Grande, Carson National Forest, Baylor Peak, Pyramid Rock and other recognizable landmarks. Thousands of miles of roads lead through urbanized areas like Albuquerque, sparsely populated trading posts, lush forests, mountain ranges and rest stops in the middle of the desert. There are many unique functional truck stops around New Mexico's highways to spend the night, rest, refuel or repair a damaged truck. Main features Over 4,000 miles of new in-game roads 14 major cities, including Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Roswell 11 custom rest/truck stops for parking and refueling More than 600 completely new 3D assets Complex and realistic custom-built junctions and Interstate interchanges 8 new company docks and industries Unique landmarks both natural and man-made New Mexico achievements to unlock Useful links New Mexico Steam store page American Truck Simulator Enchanted Bundle Steam store page (make sure to visit it first if you consider buying the DLC!) New Mexico press kit (screenshots, video, assets, information) We hope that all virtual truckers will have a lot of fun in the latest map extension of American Truck Simulator! American Truck Simulator official Update 1.29 is out We want to thank everyone who participated in the open beta. The final version of the update is now ready and the game should update automatically on Steam, unless you have automatic updates disabled. We're very grateful for your help! You can find the whole list of major changes and fixes in Update 1.29 outlined in our previous post here. Source: http://blog.scssoft.com/2017/11/new-mexico-dlc-arrives-alongside.html
  15. After extensive testing, we are ready to announce the release date of the latest American Truck Simulator map add-on. The wait for New Mexico DLC will be over on Thursday, November 9th, 2017. We're still working on final touches and optimizations, but feedback from both internal and external beta testing is, fortunately, coming back mostly very positive, so we feel reasonably confident to finally commit to the release date. For Steam digital distribution, we set the price to USD $ 11.99, € 11.99, £ 8.99, the DLC will also show up in box distribution in some territories. Do not forget to check out New Mexico coming soon page, where you'll find screenshots, the trailer video, and the feature list.
  16. Today we'd like to give you an update on another of our projects: the next generation Scania S and R trucks. Our vehicle designers are nearly done with modeling the last details on these two magnificent vehicles. Our rendition of Scania S is already in the internal testing stage and the work on R is quite close to being completed, too. We are now working on adjusting the tuning parts and elements from the various ETS2 content DLCs to make them compatible with the new trucks. Before we'll let the S and R beasts leave our labs, we need to make all the pieces like the additional parts, paint jobs, interior options and toys all working well together when combined. We thought that you may appreciate some fresh screenshots and info. So here it comes. As you can see, there are several options coming with both of these new Scanias. We have several stock interiors, including the brand new style for illuminated elements and also the powerful V8 version! We'll have the standard and also the longer version of 6x4 chassis, plus many editable parts from the wheel to the roof of the truck are on the list too. Everyone will be able to tune the Scania S or R according to his/her taste. We'd like to thank you for your patience and interest in those upcoming trucks. We hear and read all your messages and questions. While we're not sure about the exact date of release, we can confirm that their release won't be connected to any other DLC release. They should appear in the game as a free update immediately after we finish testing and polishing them, and obtain the final approval from the manufacturer. It's really busy time for us right now, but we're pretty sure that the final quarter of this year will be absolutely fabulous. We have plenty of really cool features and content coming up for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, and we can't wait to see and read your reactions to them! Source: http://blog.scssoft.com/2017/09/new-scania-s-and-r-aproaching-finish.html
  17. We are happy to announce that the 1.29 Update Open Beta for American Truck Simulator is out. Actually, the first build was released on Friday already, we have kind of soft-launched it before the weekend. There are a lot of changes under the hood in this new game version, there may have been new instabilities introduced. So we thought that we should only expose a limited number of players to the very first iteration of the beta progress, see the reaction, and only then decide if we should start talking aloud about it. 18. As we are putting finishing touches on the New Mexico DLC for American Truck Simulator, we also need to finalize all the various marketing and promo material, so that we are ready for the release day. One of the key elements is the promotional video trailer. We have been working on it for several days already, and today we are finally happy with the result. We decided that we should not sit on it until the launch date. Instead, we want to show it to our game's fans now, ahead of the release, to whet your appetite.
  19. We are proud to announce the "Euro Truck Simulator 2: Italia" map expansion. Our ETS2 map design team is working on it with maximum effort, and we are looking forward to bringing you our rendition of beautiful Italy with its rich history and modern industry. You are most likely aware that the game already contains several cities from northern Italy. These areas of the game world will receive an extra layer of polish to coincide with the DLC release so even players who decide to wait with the purchase of the new DLC will benefit from a partial upgrade of the game map. Our map designers have fallen in love with the new region right from the research stages - there are so many diverse environments to combine! From tall mountains to the shores of the seas, from manicured farmland to wilder and more arid places, it was clear that we are looking at quite a challenging and demanding task. We tried our best to depict the typical features of Italy from behind the wheel, like roads leading through the Apennines, where tunnels and bridges alternate with scenic vistas and curvy segments, opening the view to distant horizons. The geography and shape of Italy have also led to a relatively high concentration of cities and industries in the new DLC. If everything goes according to the plan, we expect to release this latest Euro Truck Simulator 2 map expansion towards the end of this year. We hope that you will be as excited about our work as we are, and appreciate our efforts to show Italy for what it is: Bella Italia!

  21. Source: http://blog.scssoft.com/2017/03/ats-16-open-beta.html We are ready to start public testing of a new Update for ATS today. ETS2 Open Beta should follow later this week. After rescaling the ATS world in 1.5, we have focused on driver experience improvements in this update. We have already mentioned liftable trailer axles in a previous blog post. Weigh station pass device is another little "cabin toy" that's a part of a trucker's life, so we felt that it should be brought into the game. This update also improves simulation of a vehicle's engine internals. There is more attention now on varying performance of different configurations, we have enhanced adaptive transmission modes, and also added the differential lock, which may be handy on uneven surfaces. Additional improvements to vehicle behavior include air brake simulation tweaks, also engine brake input in certain situations has been changed. We have also increased the range of available FOVs for multi-monitor setups. About the weigh station pass device: The box is mounted on the windshield of the truck. In the game, it works the same way as the weigh station functionality that's a part of the on-screen Advisor "widget." For players who prefer to switch off all user interface elements to get a more immersive experience, they will now have the visual cue to know whether they need to either complete the weight check or whether they can bypass it. List of features included in ATS Update 1.6: MAIN FEATURES Weigh station pass device Trailer liftable axles Differential lock Adaptive transmission modes (power, normal, eco) Improved engine simulation model (friction, braking, consumption) MINOR CHANGES Air pressure simulation improved (pressure buildup, cut-off sound, application pressure), working air pressure values fixed Transmission input shaft simulation (double clutch) Coin sound tweaked Field Of View (FOV) range increased to 40-120 degrees in adjuster If engine brake toggle input is not assigned, increase/decrease engine brake input work similar to retarder (in range from 0 to maximum) Tuned wheel noise to be more noticeable with loud engines Multiple fueling points on gas stations g_force_economy_reset flag is disabled after economy reset MOD Single "overrides" (forced default) rule can be used instead of defaults-suitable rule pair across linked accessories All pressure unit set consistently to bars (data, animation, dashboard UI) Nominal air_tank_pressure value added to chassis data Changed interior animations: all air, oil and brake pressure (gauges, indicators) New interior animation: trailer axle lift (indicator), differential lock (button, indicator) New engine data: resistance_torque (measured at 2000 rpm) Coin sound made moddable in the same way as other sounds (through .ogg file) Please check our modding wiki too to get details pertaining to mods for the game. If you wish to participate in the open beta, you can find this version in public_beta branch on Steam. The way to access it is as follows: Steam client → LIBRARY → right click on American Truck Simulator → Properties → Betas tab → public_beta → 1.6 public beta. No password required. Just as with the previous Open Beta releases - please keep in mind that this is still only a beta version of the update! You may experience instability and/or bugs and kinks. It’s completely okay if you want to wait for the final release. But if you are interested in providing feedback at this stage, be sure to let us know on ourforums. We appreciate all your feedback immensely.
  22. Only three days are left until Monday December 5th. That's when the new map expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2 "Vive la France !" is going to be released after well over a year of hard work of our ETS2 design team. We are very excited by the reactions from people who have reviewed the DLC or had access to it as part of closed beta test. We have already started sending out press keys to media, so reviews, videos, and streams are now popping up online. There will surely be more of them over the weekend. A few of our friends helping us with beta testing have also contributed with their own opinion on what a launch trailer should look like, or started showing extensive gameplay videos. If you are curious what to expect with "Vive la France !" this post is going to collect what we have found on YouTube so far... 23. Today marks one year anniversary of American Truck Simulator's release. When we started working on the game way back several years ago, it was with a tiny team of five people, and still we were not sure if we can sustain the development. But we persisted, and were rewarded by a very strong launch on the market and a warm reception by the community as well as gaming press. This gave us the confidence to bolster the team and raise our ambition for the scale of the project. At this moment, over 20 people focus solely on ATS development; an internal team plus a network of full-time contractors. Still it is not enough. We are well aware that the game's fans would like to see more content, more vehicles, more game features, more optimizations, faster progress. To make this possible, we keep growing the company - our vision is to at least double our production bandwidth for both American Truck as well as Euro Truck 2. We have been adding a few new people to the company pretty much every month during 2016, and we'll definitely keep on growing through 2017. All this new talent does and will make a difference that you should definitely notice. We are happy to confirm that the next map expansion for American Truck Simulator will be the state of New Mexico! Source: http://blog.scssoft.com/2017/02/american-truck-simulator-heads-towards.html
  24. We are proud to introduce a new set of truck tyres and truck accessories, officially licensed from Michelin to Euro Truck Simulator 2. We are complementing them by several "aftermarket" goodies and paintjobs to create a mix that should bring a smile to every Michelin fan's face. Michelin is one of the largest tyre manufacturers in the world, acknowledged as an innovator with a history spanning over 120 years. Michelin's brand identity is immediately recognizable. The symbol of the company - Bibendum, the Michelin Man - is one of the world's oldest trademarks, it has become a cultural phenomen Here is the Steam Store link to Michelin Fan Pack DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. You can find the list of officially licensed tyres in the list below, but there is more. Just as many drivers and users of their tyres are ready to go an extra lenght to decorate their vehicles with additional adornments, we wanted to provide you with a sampling of additional cabin accessories and fan-inspired paintjobs beyond the official merchandise catalogue. This new DLC marks another big milestone for us in our effort to introduce more transportation brands into our games' universe. It's certainly an opportunity for us to celebrate. And we want to celebrate with the most loyal players of Euro Truck Simulator 2! If you have at least 75 hours of playtime invested into Euro Truck Simulator 2, here is your chance to grab a free Steam key for the new DLC. You just need to be ready to make a few extra clicks in your web browser - which will not only help us spread awareness of our new important game add-on release across the web, but which will also let Michelin see that our fan base appreciates their open mind. 25. Hello Truckers ! For us in our little corner of central Europe, and also for many of you across the globe, this part of the year is very special. It's a time to wind down and recap the past, it's a time to make plans for the future, it's also a great time to express gratitude. This year was of huge importance in the history SCS Software. We have strenghtened our commitment to Euro Truck Simulator 2, we have a new major project to nurture in American Truck Simulator, we have grown the company by over 20 new employees. We have released solid quality projects, and we have several great new things in production. Our future is clear, and we know what we want to achieve as we enter the year 2017. We are very proud that our games have attracted such an awesome fan community, and we would like to say thanks for all your support. Thank you for every positive appreciation, for every constructive criticism, for every encouragement, for your helpful feedback, for every single suggestion for future improvements, for every sharing of the moments of joy that you have got when playing our games. Also thank you for staying loyal to our communication channels and social sites like our dedicated Facebook profiles for SCS Software, Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator, the Youtube channel, Twitter profile and newly also the Instagram profile. And because this is a time with a touch of magical and mythical, filled with kindness and great forebodings, we thought it would be cool to wrap up the year with a little teaser video of what you may look forward to in the future. Let us also remember the real heroes behind the steering wheels of actual trucks, who are tirelessly hauling cargoes out there day and night. We owe them a ton. Not just for an inspiration for a bunch of truck sim games, but for making it possible for us to live our lives in the comfort of modern society. May you reach your destination, and may your journey be wonderful! Have a great time during this awesome and peaceful part of the year. Let us step into the New Year ready for any big, heavy, and oversized cargoes that may come our way. Happy New Year!
