Ask yourself if it can be recycled, composted, or reused for another purpose. I firmly believe if more people demand eco-friendly products, the companies will have to listen to us. Supply & Demand. There was a spot at my old building where people put their valuable recycling like $0.40 bottles and it would be snapped up instantly. As for the eco guilt, I get it, I feel it. It’s hard to do the right thing when you don’t have any control over the process. Focus on what you can change- the amount of recyclables and trash you buy and create. If you’ve got that to a minimum you’re doing your best and probably better than most. We have a paper and cardboard bin and also a plastics, cans and glass bin in which I ensure I fill up and take out to be emptied frequently.
